Alan Perko : “Thank you very much for the congratulations on my behalf and on behalf of the entire team. They truly mean a lot to us. For the Croatian national team at the 70th World Championship held in France near the town of Béthune, the following anglers participated:

The coaches were Martin Vrcković and Damir Škorić. Additionally, we had Kristijan Košmacin and Josip Vrcković assisting us with logistics as "bank runners."
Sensas : “Could you please explain your strategy ?”
Alan Perko : “During the five days of training, we tried different strategies, methods of fishing, and fish feeding techniques. After all the training sessions, we developed our tactic, which was as follows. First, we decided to fish for "gobies" for at least the first two hours, and during that time, we agreed to keep the active outer fishing spot at 13 meters, as it would be crucial for fishing in the last two hours of the competition. Some of us fished for "gobies" for all four hours, while others focused more on "skimmers" at the 13-meter distance. Personally, both days after two hours, I went out to the 13-meter spot to look for a bonus "skimmer."
Sensas : “Could you give us your groudbait during the tournament?”
Alan Perko : “We fed with a very simple mix of Sensas bait, which works very well in almost all waters. We mixed "Sensas LAKE" (1.5 kg) with "Sensas gros gardons noire fine" (1.5 kg). We also added a bit of double leama, Terre de Somme and PV1 to this mix so that the boats wouldn’t take away all the bait immediately.”
Sensas : ‘According to you, what kind of details able you to make the difference?”
Alan Perko : “I believe the most important reason we became world team champions is that all of us had previously fished in the Croatian youth national teams and had participated in many world championships. I must also emphasize that we were certainly the youngest team at this world championship, with the oldest member being 35 years old and the youngest being 27. Additionally, I think it was very important that we gathered a lot of information about the water from numerous people in France, England, and Belgium, which helped us understand the situation we could expect on the water. We also managed to obtain excellent local "jokers" and "bloodworms," which were extremely important for this type of fishing.”
Sensas “What is your impression after winning the worldchampionship with your team?”
Alan Perko : “The feeling after winning the gold team medal is truly incredible. Although I had a similar feeling when I became the individual world champion in Novi Sad in 2019, I can confidently say that this is even better because we won the gold as a team. I also have to mention that this is the first medal in Croatia's history in angling with a float in the senior competition, making it even more valuable for that reason.”
